hopeless optimism

Today I finally stepped back and was able to attain a full grasp of the vast improvements I’ve made in reaching my ultimate career goal. I have been fortunate enough to meet people in the industry, spend time in the industry, and increase my general knowledge substantially in the few noteworthy courses, independent reading, and films that I have taken, done, and viewed. My nihilistic attitude tends to envelop my good fortunes, but I am going to start to take everything for what it is worth. I believe that value is often relished upon too much before it is truly and fully gained. I know, in hindsight, I will be thankful.

You most certainly have made strides since last year. You now have a career goal that you are working diligently for. Appreciate the opportunities in front of you and know that there are many wishing to be in your place.

Optimism is not always just wishful thinking.

I am awfully proud (and jealous) of you.

Nihilism is a lot stronger when you don't feel like you have the necessary experience and connections... but thankfulness is always a good exercise. And most of us do have things to be thankful for, I suppose.

Yeah it looks like we're pretty similar in just about each area of taste... Awesome!

Paris Je T'aime, for instance -- great movie :).
